Absolute GNSS Antenna Calibration - development of a concept

Robot for absolute field calibration of GNSS antennae

The development of the absolute field calibration of GNSS antennae was funded by the Minitry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in a project  "Entwicklung und Erprobung eines Verfahrens zur hochpräzisen Kalibrierung von GPS-Antennenaufstellungen". Within a cooperation with Geo++ (Gesellschaft für satellitengestützte und navigatorische Technologien mbH) this method was developed.This method is distinguished by a real time process with a robot to determine elevation and azimutal depended phase center variations (PCV) of GNSS antennae with sub millimeter precision.
