Physical Geodesy and Space Geodetic Techniques

European Quasigeoid and gravimetric measurement technologies

The working group Physical Geodesy and Space Geodetic Techniques focuses on  terrestrial and satellite-based gravimetry emphasising on the development of new concepts for gravimetric Earth observation using quantum sensors and relativistic geodesy. Another main focus is the analysis of laser measurements between moon and Earth to test the General Theory of Relativity.

Topics

Current topics of the group include clocks in space and on Earth for the determination of the gravity field and reference systems, the calculation of simulations for gravity field-satellite missions enabling the development of new concepts, the examination of the moon's structure and body as well as terrestrial absolute and relative gravimetry.
